OSLO, Norway — A global survey of software piracy finds Vietnam and Ukraine the worst offenders, with more than 90 percent of software in those nations having been pirated.
The Business Software Alliance also found that in more than half of the 87 nations surveyed, pirated copies of software accounts for more than 60 percent of the total market, Aftenposten reported Wednesday.
Among Scandinavian nations, Norway is the worst, with pirated software accounting for 31 percent of all software being used in the country. That 31 percent translates into a $184 million loss to software makers.
